3rd Pathways to a Sustainable Future: Day 1 June 24, 2017
This year, we have a total of 17 members participating in the 3rd Pathways to a Sustainable Future project. Majority of our participants came from neighboring South American nations such as Brazil, Uruguay, Honduras, and Bolivia, as well as those from U.S.A, Korea and Paraguay. As everyone gathered together in Asuncion, Paraguay, we began the day with orientation followed by some ice breaker activities and team bonding exercises that allowed us to get to know each other and form friendships with one another.
The group also took a tour around Asuncion where we visited government buildings, local parks, and street shops filled with an array of traditional Paraguayan gifts and souvenirs. We also had the opportunity to learn about the history of Paraguay through a presentation given by the local UPF director.
Despite the language barrier that some participants are experiencing with each other, everyone is eager to communicate and are already building friendships as if they have known each other for a long time.
