2nd Pathways to a Sustainable Future: Day 1 July 4th, 2016
After two days of orientation in the capital city of Asuncion the 21 participants from eleven nations (New Zealand, Paraguay, USA , Japan, Canada, Honduras, Columbia, Brazil, Argentina, Denmark and Korea) are working past cultural and social barriers making quick and strong bonds of friendship.
Our orientation included exercises to help the group bond, a review of the history of Paraguay given by the local UPF director, a three hour walking tour of the city in which we visited government buildings, the local museum and the colonial section of the city. The group finished their tour at the coffee shop, which provided and environment to relaxation and engaging conversation.
One participant commented, “After the first day it’s amazing how close we all feel, and in such a short time our conversations in our teams have gotten deep and personal. I am so happy to be among such amazing people.”
